The Rise software is an excellent choice for SME employers to handle all the key areas of HR administration. We have been using the software for over a year and have no complaints

Ontario Aboriginal Housing Solutions has been using Rise HR & Payroll solutions for more than 5 years now and we have been so impressed.

We went to Rise because of their effective and cost-effective Payroll system and have stayed with them because of their core HR capabilities.

The switch-over to Rise was relatively easy. There was little to no training required for most of our users and staff because the system is so intuitive.

Our HR & Payroll Team has been well supported by the Rise Support Team. We have gone to them with small requests and one large request in particular and the whole Team at Rise has been friendly, helpful and timely.

Their solution has easily grown with us as we've gone from 30 employees to almost 150 without a blip. The Rise solution supported our growth.

We are thankful. Rise is highly recommended!

Our organization has been using Rise for a few years now. They have always been quick, efficient and friendly to us. We love that they are located in the lower mainland. We have considered switching just for the convenience of our payroll matching/connecting to our accounting software, but we don't want to give up the relationship with Rise - it's too great 🙂

Rise was recommended by another very small business (like my own) so I checked it out. My initial questions were answered quickly and an introductory video clearly illustrated how to use the employee and payroll features I really needed.

When I signed-up, my onboarding experience was excellent. I was given assistance with my first payroll run even though I was much closer to the payroll date than is typically allowed. I also received assistance importing my year-to-date information (from my previous system).

Using the system (two pay runs so far and also having to issue an ROE) has been a breeze.

So far, I am extremely happy with my Rise experience ...

As someone who has NEVER been in an HR/ Finance Role, Rise has been a very soft landing for this inexperienced gal in an Operations role at a brand new start up. Onboarding support has been unmatched. Jessica consistently checked in with me and supported me along the way. I never once felt like I couldn't reach out to her. The platform is intuitive and very easy to navigate. Great features and always expanding

TLDR: Seamless integration of the HRMS, Time-off Policies, Schedule and Payroll is worth it!

Gonna ramble now (omg I'm "that age" where I get excited about a payroll system....)
My company has been using Rise for 3 years now, and I love it.
I've been a part of teams used to test beta programs, and have been able to provide my honest input when proposed changes were not good ones.
I think the best part is the above-mentioned integration (if you've ever had a spreadsheet to track staff vacation days, or had to download an excel sheet, just to format it and then upload into a payroll system, you know my pain.)
That whole mess of extra steps is gone, and it makes payroll go from a 5 hour ordeal to averaging 30 to 60 minutes for a normal pay period. (When your team leads review the hours on a daily basis).

Other items include:
* Stat pay can be programed to populate in payroll automatically.
* I can issue policies for staff to review and sign at any time in the system, and then the signed policy goes right to my email if I want to save a copy in the employee file.
* Tombstone reports are incredibly easy and customizable.
* The support staff is IN CANADA! I don't have to wait 24 hours for someone to address my service requests or error functions. Plus they're fantastic ppl and I love chatting with my favourites.
* The app allows for clocking in and out seamlessly, and gives options to create Locations (limitations to clock in at, and tracking where staff are, which is great when you run multiple sites).
* Staff can book vacation time from their app and it goes right to my email, removing the need to hoard paper work.
* T4's and Pay statements go right to the app (while you're actively employed) as well as emailed directly to the employee, and are automatically password protected.
* Onboarding is easy (tho has multiple steps when using all the package options).

Looking for the best payroll company? DO NOT sign up for Rise People. Rise People is the worst payroll company!! I had the worst customer experience in my life. The company send me an email instructing my last name to give permission to my first name to make an account lol After more than 5 calls I kept being rolled from one customer representative to the next with more bizarre "solutions" like asking me to fill out a form I sent them initially. If you don't want to waste your money, choose someone else. Rise People is an expensive platform, with a poor user experience (HR is not the same as payroll and user owners can't add people without absolute mayhem of a customer experience.

Rise decided to start charging for their services, which would be fine, except:
1. I signed up because they said their service would be free forever
2. They did not notify me. They claim they did, but they did not. Now they are saying it is because I unsubscribed from the many, many marketing emails they sent. This wasn't a marketing email, it should still have been sent
3. I found out about this change and now I have less than a two weeks to find and get set up on a new payroll provider, right before year end

When you say something will be free FOREVER you don't get to change your mind, especially without telling your clients, on short notice, at year end.

Poor interface, difficult to navigate. Set up was not intuitive. When everything did get set up it wasn't bad to use. I used their free service for 2-3 years without any major issues. The new cost might be worth it, however I don't feel like I can trust this company anymore, so will be switching to another company. For the same cost you can get on with some much more established, easy to use and feature rich companies.
